OUR STORY
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
As a senior in high school, our founder was offered the opportunity to work for a coffee shop in New York City. He then explored different varieties of crafted coffee drinks, which instantly sparked his passion for the field. After exploring different career paths, he always knew the ultimate goal was to create a reliable, welcoming coffee experience for everyone to enjoy. He was trying to think of ways to transcend the whole industry, creating an even bigger passion.
OUR NAME
Finally with the opportunity to start what our founder always yearned for, he took coffee and combined it with his love for his heritage. Our name, Taimoca™, combines two important aspects of our founder's heritage. “Tai” stems from the Taino tribe, habitants of the Dominican Republic, and our founder's background. That is why the logo is a Taino princess picking Cacao fruit from a tree. Historically, the Tainos have strong cultivation of coffee, and “Moca” is their word for coffee. Moca is also the city where our founder was born in the Dominican Republic. All of these meanings have great importance to our story, thus the name Taimoca™ was created.
OUR GOAL
Besides giving the best coffee blends & the freshest smoothies, our goal is to create a very inviting environment that people feel as soon as they walk in. The full brightness, cleanness, and atmosphere of a great culture. A place where people feel like they come into a second home, a place where they can release their stress. To feel the environment, depending on what season we are in. Whether it’s hanging colorful leaves during the fall, holiday decorations in the winter, or bright flowers during the spring and summer we want to spread the festivities. Not just great coffee, but also a great environment.
